MORE TONED AND STABLE BODY WITH PILATES

Pilates is a form of exercise and body shaping. Does not build muscles it improves muscle tone and increases flexibility and strength. It includes concentration on each movement and the use of the abdominal and lower back muscles. Movements are precise and stable with controlled breathing.

Even though all muscle groups are covered it’s not as heavy as cardiovascular training. It consists of deep stretching and some resistance from a well-balanced exercise program. It strengthens the core and muscles, improves posture, gives more elasticity, and leads to a firm and powdery body.

Types of Pilates

Pilates is mainly divided into two categories:

• exercises that use a mat

• exercises that use special equipment

Pilates equipment varies in type and size. Equipment with additional resistance from the participant’s own body weight with graduated spring levels is also used.

Small equipment is easy to buy and practice at home.

Types of Pilates Equipment

• Pilates mats. They are thicker and denser. Designed to support your body providing a high level of cushioning as you roll across the floor.

• Pilates ball. Mainly used for massage and to release tension in the shoulders and feet. Usually used after a hard workout or a long day in a sitting position

• Foam rollers. It helps relieve muscle stiffness, pain, and inflammation and increases joint range of motion. Foam rolling can be an effective pre- and post-workout tool

• Pilates magic circle or ring. Used to strengthen and stretch muscles. The resistance provided by the ring improves overall stability and balance and stabilizes the core.

• Pilates band or resistance bands. It helps to build and strengthen muscles and thereby improves their flexibility. They are perfect for deepening stretches.

• Pilates reformer. The reformer offers all the benefits. Including overall strength flexibility coordination and balance

• Cadillac or trapeze table. Used for all ages and abilities. There are a variety of exercises from gentle to advanced acrobatics. It’s designed for maximum stability, efficient adjustment, and safe use

• Pilates chair. Used for simple strength and balance exercises. The design is simple. You can perform a huge number of exercises especially for strengthening the muscles of the core, arms, and legs

• Ladder Barrel or Barrel. It helps to perform a variety of strengthening, stretching, and mobility exercises.

Pilates is beneficial for health and maintaining a healthy weight but it’s not as effective for weight loss as other cardio exercises. Exercises are modified to suit an individual’s needs. It’s accessible to almost everyone. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced exerciser you will have improved strength, better posture, and efficient movement throughout your daily activities.
