Close the blinds or curtains so people can’t see in.

Light up your home both inside and out.

Outside the home

Be careful when you are outside

You avoid talking on the phone, listening to music, or texting if you go alone.

Have your car keys handy so you can unlock the car as soon as you get there.

When you get into the car, lock the doors immediately.

Do not go to an area where you do not feel safe

If you become the victim of an attack the following can help you get out of the situation safely.

Always fight back. In any situation, unless you are running away from an attacker, fight back at your attacker. When you fight back you have to hurt your attacker. You focus on the key parts of the attacker’s body: the groin, the eyes, and the throat, and fight with all your strength. Remember to get as close as possible to where there are more people who can see you and help you.
