Running has the highest place on the pedestal when it comes to the most calories burned per hour.  But riding a stationary bike, jogging, and swimming are also great options.  HIIT exercises are great for burning calories as well.
Burning more calories can help you lose weight as well as maintain a healthy weight.

Running

A 30-minute run burns between 200-500 calories.  For people who are on a diet, this is an ideal way to lose weight.
However, it is easy to overestimate the number of calories burned during a typical run.  There are many details about exercise that affect the number of calories burned.  These include your body weight, the surface you’re running on, the incline, and several other factors.  To determine the total caloric expenditure of running, it is important to consider these things.

Riding a stationary bike
A 30-minute vigorous exercise session on a stationary bike burns approximately 315 calories for a 125-pound person, 378 calories for a 155-pound person, and 441 calories for a 185-pound person.  If you weigh more than that, you’ll burn even more calories.
Obviously, the calories burned on a stationary bike depend on weight, watts, and duration.

Jogging

The average person burns between 80 and 140 calories per mile jogging.  In 30 minutes of jogging, you will burn between 280 and 520 calories, depending on your weight, pace, as well as speed, and intensity of jogging.

Swimming

Swimming is an excellent exercise for weight loss.  Water helps support your body weight.  Therefore, it is easier on the joints compared to walking or running.
On average, swimming burns 300 to 600 calories per hour.  The amount of calories burned depends on your weight, stroke, speed, and duration.
Running for a minute burns about 70% more calories than swimming. However, running is a very high impact and may not be practical if you are overweight.

HIIT

High Intensive Interval Training can burn a significant amount of calories in a relatively short amount of time. HIIT training is a special type of training that uses time intervals.  You alternate short periods of rest with short periods of intense exercise.  With a 30-minute HIIT workout, you burn about 290 calories. For up to 24 hours after a HIIT workout, your body will continue to burn calories.

However, apart from exercise, proper nutrition is very important for burning calories.
