If you lack magnesium, you can make up for it by eating foods rich in this mineral, as well as by taking certain supplements. Foods rich in magnesium are chard, spinach and other green leafy vegetables, almonds, mackerel and salmon, pumpkin seeds, dark chocolate and cocoa, ground flax, bananas…

If you want a faster recovery, then consume magnesium tablets or supplements, but do not exceed the recommended daily amount.

Recommended daily dose of magnesium is 320 mg for women and 420 mg of magnesium per day for men. Excessive intake of magnesium can lead to diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, and arrhythmia.
